Zan, I highly recommend it for childs learning.
I also strongly suggest buying a anti-glare filter. The glossy screen is bad for the eyes, especially children. Those filters also minimise ulgy fingerprints on the screen.

from what i heard,just get the multsim service if u r using a data+voice plan.
only $5 per month..
2)
if ur iphone is JB,get an app called my wifi (i got prob tracking this app)
it allows ur iphone to becomes a wifi hotspot n all u need to do is use wifi only ur ipad.
