-----------------------
BioWare is a Canadian electronic entertainment company founded in February 1995 by Ray Muzyka, Greg Zeschuk, and Augustine Yip. It is based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. BioWare specializes in creating computer and console video games and has become famous for highly praised and successful computer role-playing games such as Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights, both of which won multiple awards. They have also made several successful console role-playing games: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, Mass Effect, and most recently, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. The former three games were later adapted for the PC.

Muzyka and Zeschuk are currently the studio heads of BioWare, with Muzyka the General Manager and Chief Executive Officer and Zeschuk the Vice-President, Development Operations of BioWare; Yip left in early 1997 to return to medicine. On June 24, 2009, it was announced by Electronic Arts that BioWare would be merging with other EA company, Mythic Entertainment

From the General News category we have: Mythic and BioWare Form New RPG/MMO Group

Today we have important news to share with the community. EA is restructuring its RPG and MMO games development into a new group that includes both Mythic and BioWare. This newly formed team will be led by Ray Muzyka, co-founder and General Manager of BioWare. With this change, Ray becomes Group General Manager of the new RPG/MMO studio group. BioWare’s other co-founder, Greg Zeschuk will become Group Creative Officer for the new RPG/MMO studio group. Rob Denton will step up as General Manager of Mythic and report to Ray. BioWare’s studios remain unchanged and continue to report to Ray.

Mark Jacobs, co-founder and current General Manager of Mythic will leave EA on June 23, 2009. We thank Mark for his contributions at Mythic and wish him the very best going forward. Mark played a major part in the success of Mythic with his contribution as General Manager and Lead Designer of WAR.

Mythic retains a strong team led by Rob who co-founded Mythic in 1995. Rob played a critical role in the development of Dark Age of Camelot. In his previous role as COO, he was responsible for all day-to-day management of the studio including all development, operations and support.

Please join us in celebrating the union of these two award-winning studios.
Well, for me, Mark Jacob did very well for DAoC. To me, it is more of EA issue than Mark Jacob. I remember EA kill off a few MMORPGs in the past.
Holy mama.. a Bioware developed mmorpg on the way?
I kinda bioware supporter cos of the games they produce~~~
mythic failed me in WAR which i waited for 2yrs -_-Zz huge disappointment in the game. *own logic

hope BioWare can bring up better standard of WAR. mayb WAR is gonna be total restructure~~

It would be cool to play WAR in Bioware gamestyle.. ~~~~
This is interesting news! However, both are still under EA am i right? Although BioWare is renown for the single player rpgs that they produce/develop, as long as they're under the umbrella of EA, i'm not so sure whether to be optimistic or pessimistic. Time will tell... :-)
Star Wars : Old Republic

Bioware mmorpg lor
I believe it's always good to inject new blood to work on WAR.

The players on the board should be replaced every few cycles.
I certainly hope they won't screw up The Old Republic.

I am the opposite. Yes, Bioware did very well on RPG games like Baldur gate etc.

But, in terms of PvP MMORPG, I dun think they have the experience. If they make WAR into more PvE, then it really contradict with the concept and design of WAR MMORPG, which was suppose to be PvP focus.
EA almost wanna kill The Sim b4 it was completed. Imagine how much cash they throw into the drain if they did it?
They should gimme all the money

Hard to tell, given EA track record of rushing deadlines on the expense of development life cycles, they might derail Bioware.

Origins Systems, Westwoods and now Mythic.
